Most people now realise that the costs of coal mining outweigh the benefits. Cheap consumer items might be a little bit fun, but they are no substitute for an intact community and a liveable planet. By attempting to convince us that we cannot stop coal mining, the NSW Minerals Council is creating a sense of despair about the future, and about our common ability to create a better one.

The reality is that we can have jobs without coal, and we can have energy without coal, but we cannot have a coal industry without climate change. Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell something. Probably coal.
